As you can see from the last few posts, I’ve been working more and more with Kundalini energy and awakening it. As readers, do you have any experiences with Kundalini? If so, please post your experiences in the comments area.
Namaste,
Kris

Yes, I’ve had a kundalini awakening… I doubt I could even begin to talk about what this experience has encompassed in a comment box.
Suffice to say that kundalini is very real. It disturbs me slightly when I see people selling meditation CDs meant to raise the kundalini, and they do so with all these promises of what kundalini can do for you…
My experience was not typical – because there is NO such thing as a typical experience. It’s different for everyone.
I don’t want to frighten people, or make it sound horrible, but it’s not all increased sexual, creative and psychic energies…
It can cause psychosis (as it did for me), and I am sure there are many people around the world in mental institutions because their kundalini rose and they didn’t know what was going on, and neither did the people around them.
It took me a long time to integrate the experience, and to feel ok being back in the world. Life was uncomfortable for a long time. I experienced an enormous amount of grief, deep, deep grief that threatened to drown me at times…
And I am SO glad I have been through this process. Will diligence and dedication I have come to a point where I feel so blessed.
I don’t know if it’s something that you can make happen. Some yogic thought holds that Kundalini moves when she wants to… as a result of lifetimes of work.
I wasn’t trying to make it happen – I hadn’t even HEARD of kundalini at the time.
The very nature of seeking or trying to achieve something is antithetical to being awakened. And Kundalini rising doesn’t necessarily lead to awakening either.
I am certainly not awakened. Although I have had moments, or experiences which embrace Oneness, or Consciousness.
Perhaps I am just Aware…
It is impossible to work toward awakening. Nothing changes. Everything changes. You can awaken NOW.
And there you are.
There is nothing to do.
Nothing to achieve.
Just being
Here
Now.
That is all.
Much joy,
KL

Hi KL,
Thanks for the comment, well said and full of key information. It is a serious practice as is all energy work and one without the ability to keep the body in balance at the same time should be very careful, I would say. The first time I really felt the start of this was while in yoga study, second and recently while in the practice of Qigong. I am not sure if it takes many lifetimes to awaken such a thing, heck, maybe I’ve been trying for several lifetimes but it’s real and it’s happening.
I really appreciate your post and thoughts.
